BY LAWS
LONG ISLAND ASSOCIATION OF FIREMEN’S BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATIONS, INC.

ARTICLE I-NAME
The name of this association shall be Long Island Association of Firemen’s Benevolent Associations Inc.


ARTICLE II – OFFICES
The principal office of the corporation shall be at the residence of the then secretary of this corporation.


ARTICLE III- PURPOSES
The object and purpose of this association shall be to further more hearty cooperation between member organizations, to promote a more friendly spirit between member organizations, to have a place for organizations to exchange ideas, get questions answered, begin legislation pertaining to section 122, 553, 554, of the New York State Insurance Laws. Each member organization does hereby agree to hold themselves in readiness to respond to all calls for assistance from other member organizations (not to be construed as financial assistance).


ARTICLE IV – MEMBERSHIP
Any Volunteer fire company or volunteer fire department located in Nassau, Suffolk, King or Queens Counties, in active service: or any association of exempt or active volunteer firemen receiving monies under section 122, 553, 554 of the New York State Insurance Laws may become a member of this association upon payment to the secretary the dues for the current year


ARTICLE V – MEETINGS

  1. Regular meetings are to be held on the fourth Thursday of the months of January, March, May, July, September and the fifth Thursday of November. Where there is no fifth Thursday the meeting shall be on the third Thursday of November. The January meeting shall be the annual meeting.
  2. Board meetings shall be called at the discretion of the President.
  3. Each paid up member organization shall be entitled to one vote.
  4. It is recommended that each organization be represented by one delegate and one alternate.
  5. A quorum shall be 25% of the paid up member organizations.
  6. Robert Rules of Order shall be the official parliamentary guide to the conduct of meetings.
